Meet Miki The Japanese Bobtail

Introducing Miki the Japanese Bobtail, the furball of endless energy and antics! This mischievous feline has been fondly nicknamed “bobble butt” or, if you ask my sister, the “bionic bobtail.”

Miki is not your typical cat. His unique personality leans towards being more dog-like. In fact, he loves going on walks with our dog Casper, strutting his stuff and turning heads in the neighbourhood. But don’t be fooled by his cute appearance – Miki also has a knack for terrorising the neighbourhood with his playful shenanigans. He is also an expert at injuring himself.

Craving attention like a diva on a red carpet, Miki always makes sure to let us know when he wants some quality bonding time. He is chatty and expressive, always ready to engage conversation (or perhaps just demanding treats).

And let’s not forget about his name – Miki is a gender-neutral name of Japanese origin. It translates to “beautiful tree”.

Around the world, trees symbolize a variety of things, from balance and longevity to power and strength

Japanese spellings of the given name Miki include:

  • 美紀 “beautiful chronicle”
  • 美貴 “beautiful and noble”
  • 美樹 “beautiful tree”
  • 美希 “beautiful hope”

Miki certainly brings endless laughter and surprises into our lives (and stress!). although I think the lucky symbolism of the bobtail bypassed him.

There are so many adventures filled stories about Miki, which you can read about under The Adventures of Miki.
